The rations are given upon requisitions issued by the Howard., theYoung Men's Chris tian Assooiatior, the several Conferenoes of the St. Vincent do Paul Booiety, the Police authorities, Firemen's Charitable Assoioation, and other Benevolent organizations. We un derstand that, owing to imperfeoot arrange ments, partiees with requlsitiors are sometimes compelled to wait around the depot, oorner of Magazine and Lafayette streets, for house be fore they are attended to. Dr. Beson, inspector of the Third District, reports the appearance of yellow fever in his district during the past month. Five cases recov ered, six died, leaving 43 oases under treat meat. Dr. John H. Magruder, of the Fifth Distriot, (Algiers), reports that up to the middle of Au gust no osse of yellow fever had been reported. There have been since a few cases and the fever is steadily increasing. A great deal of siokness among ohildren. They have a form of fever that resembles yellow fever very much, but differs from it in some few points. This fever lasts from twenty-four hours to seven and sometimes ten days without Intermission. The : distriot is In as good sanitary condition as can be expeoted, and is by far healthier than any part of the city. Dr. B. A. Bayley, sanitary inspector of the Sixth Distriot, reports that out of a total of 109 cases of yellow fever in his distriot during August, there were only 11 deaths. No reports were made by the Inspectors of the First, Second anrid Fourth Districts, which ncolude all that part of the irty between Es planade street and Loilsiana avenue. It is in these three Districts that all the yellow fever cases, excepting the few above recorded, hare occurred so far, Epidemlos of 1847, 1853 and 1867.
