"We began the study of marketing problems last year when we organ ized the Farm Management Associa tion," said Mr, Youngblood In speak ing of the Chicago conference. "We appointed Mr. Miller secretary and organized an exchange for the farm ers. If one farmer bad a big supply of peanuts he notified the secretary, who in turn notified every member, dispos ing of the peanuts at fair market value and saving for the farmer the profit usually received by the middle man. In this way we have effected a big saving for our members. "Marketing Is a part of the course of study in farm management. In text books in use at the college here some of the topics are "Best Time to Sell," "Cost of Holding," "Shrinkage of Farm Products," "Prices in Different Months," "Selling Through Advertis ing in the Press," "Selling on Com mission," and other questions. "We have 150 members In our asso ciation and we are expecting that number to be increased at the coming Congress. We study economical pro duction, farm organization, and sell ing. Marketing Is not a new question to us and we are spending much time in studying problems in that connec tion. "At our central station we have an expert on farm management and be is devoting much time to study of marketing questions."
