3Trank Eabb Esq
Browusville Texas
Dear Sir
I notice in the Laredo Times of
ecout date the publication of a re
ported interview with you by the
Brownsville Hbkald man in which
you are reported as having aajd in
substance that yon believe that if
Brownsville and the lower Hie
Grande country got a railroad in
ithe lie ar iuture it would have to bo
from Laredo and down the Rio
Grande valley near the river where
the best lands are found as well as
almost the entire population of the
lower valley This sofolly ex
presses my views on the subject
that I have deemed it proper to
write you and ascertain from you
your opinion as to whether or not
the peoplo of the counties of Hidal
go and Cameron can be induced to
bo as liberal in regard to a railroad
along the fiver fruin here to
Brownsville as they have hereto
fore shown themselves to be for a
railroad along the coast from Cor
pus Christ or Alice 1 sincerely
believe tiiat it your peoplo will
show a proper spirit in the matter
that eucb a road will be in actual
operation within eighteen mouths
lroui date of such an expression
Our people are becoming very
much iiiturestell in this project and
it your people down there in said
counties will show the same liberal
spirit they have heretofore shown
to the other enterprise 1 believe
the road will be built at an early
daj I shall be pleased to hear
trout you on this aulject
Kespectfuily Yours
