Blako M. Cnuthorn, a promi
nent young sheepman, a son-in-law
of J H. Hamilton of this city
and a formor resident of ban An
golo, was waylaid and murdered
about four miles north of Del Ifio,
betweon tho Sonora and Devil's
River roads, Friday afternoon by
a man whose namo is alleged to
bo Ed Putnam, alias A. H. Sib-
loy, a stranger to Vul Verde couu
ty. Cauthorn's body was discov-
orod Friday ovoniug in liis ranch
buggy among somo bushes by two
sous of J. W. Ralston, another
sheepman, in search at tho timo
for their fathor who had been
missing sovoral days. A bullet
