Viola, Tenn., April, 23 1891 On account of the nice weather the town life has been very dull and quiet for the last few days. The farmers nay they have the best prospects for wheat they have had in several years and oats are doing well. Mr. Cleorge Tate, of Vervilla, and Lela Fow, of this place were married one day last weeK, ltev. v imam Sewell officiating. The young folks of this place en joyed themselves at Mr. Fred Mathews one night this week. The iota iNormal will close in five weeks. A nice time is expected at the commencement. Mrs. Garner, who has been very ill for the last two months is very much improved. Miss Emma Stubblefield has been very sick for the past few weeks. She issomo better at this writing. M. Light showers every two or three days with a mild soft atmos' phere, and you can almost see the leaves crowing. Farmers are in a push now mak' lng every ciiort to get the corn planted. . One more month after this week will close Prof.. Denton's school for this term. It is likely that he will have an interesting entertainment at the close. Corn seems to be a little scarce and is retailing at 80c pei bushel, but we are having plenty of grass for the past few days. At our Literary and Debating So ciety last Thursday night, several ladies had their names enrolled as members. Mrs. D. F. Murphy has been on a visit to McMinnville for the last week.
