I In presenting the general superior
ity of the democratic ticket over that
of fbe republican for Utah county no
name is more valuable to us than the
honored one which heads this article
A man in all that goes to make that
character is this man Creer As a citi
1
zen ds a neighbor as a friend as a
I lawyer as a clearheaded farsighted
business man he has few equal and
no superiors There is no man in the
terfitory who has a deeper insight into
the needs of Utah nor have we many
better informed men in the law either
statutory or constitutional Of an
impartial nature in fact a true lover
of justice is a guarantee that all inter
ests to be subserved by the new con
I stitution will be safe in his hands
Being one of the leading spirits in the
great coop at Spanish Fork he is well
up in commercial matters and under
stands a3 well as any man in the terri
tory the needs of that interest In
daily contact with the farmers and be
ing also a farmer himself his sympa
I thies will go out to them and part of
his care will be to serve their interest
as far as it may be done legitimately
Creer is a man who rightfully pos
sesses the universal confidence of all
who know him and he richly deserves
it The soul of honor he hates and
despises a mean thing or a mean act
I like poison The prospects now
are that he will be elected by
a large majority and If he is
we predict that there will be no man
in tliatbbdy who will stand before him
in usefulness and inficence He is 01
that quiet selfpossessed demeanor
which always denotes power
His name is without stpin or blotch
I
frank manly and outspoken His life
is pure and unsoiled his word coe
everywhere as that of an honest care
I fui man who does not make a promise
unless he is able to meet it and when
made it is always redeemed We
1 would be too glad to know that Utah
had an hundred thousand such men
Ve do sincerely trust that his order o
man will have a good safe majority in
the constitutional convention If so
then we will have a constitution which
will develop Utah
EDWARD PARTRIDGE
Here is another democratic gentle
man whose honored name adds
strength to the democratic ticket and
helps immensely to swell its general
Superiority to the republican ticket
A quiet successful farmer of
High rank and consideration in the
church a man whose life has been
spent in good works It is fortunate
for democracy that he gave his consent
to make the race tor member of the
constitutional convention because he
will be elected will have a good
healthy influence in the convention
ana upon its work and besides he
brings a strength to the geaeral ticket
which few men will bring He is of
long residence in Utah and among all
who know him he is both
trusted and loved Utah countv
Utah territory has no better citi
zen loving his fellow man honor i
ing God in his daily life he is indeed
an ideal citizen This community has
the most implicit faith in him it
trusts him both as a man and a patri
otic stateloving citizen His judg
ment is clear strong and accurate
NO in knows the needs of the people I
or of Uth in the matter of her constitu
tion batter than he and there will be
no man in the convention who will go
to the right as he seas it by a shorter
or straighter route than Partridge He
is also a true and tried democrat pos
sessing the confidence and esteem of
men of all parties and of all shades of
political opinions
Now gentlemen of Utah county let
each democrat resolve to roll up for
noble Eil Partridge a majority worthy
the man and the countyind be assured
that in doing so we do the best we
can for ourselves and our tfrntory
soon to be state Nothing will do THE
DISPATCH more pleasure than to be
able to announce on the 7th of Novem
ber the election of this good man by a
rousing big majority nor do we doubt
for one moment that this pleasure is to
be ours
THE race between Medsrs RiWlins
and Cannon is being pushed with an
iatentness rarely ever seen in congres
sional elections Both sides seem to
realize that this is the character battle
of the campaign and both are using
their best fighters in it The one side
is headed by a man who has nad a moat
successful career in the position and
whose achievements in it have been
wonderful The other isled by a
gentleman totally lacking experience
in such matter It is certainty against
doubt It is tried and true merit
against peradventure The people of
Utah are a practical people and are
apt to consider results rather than
mere cloudy possibilities For these
reasons we believe that Mr Rawlins
will be triumphantly reelected as he
ought to be
THE Tribune is taking a very rosy
view of Mr Cannons campaign H
is a great teacher in the eyes of the
Trib and the people are flocking La
him in immense multitudes to learn of
him Frankie himself must be very
much atonished at the result He has
not heretofore rated himself to Moses
in this sort of thing however much he
has labored to establish this character
among the people If tho Tub keeps
this up much longer the boy will him
self be convicted and then the devil
will be to pay
Now is the time for our executive
and campaign committees to put in
their heavy licks Let there be no let
up no slacking up in effort From
now on till the polls close let the good
work go on Let every voter be seen
appealed to reasoned with and urged
If we onlv gain ten votes by a recan
vass it is worth the labor Let no man
who loves democracy relax his efforts
now Work workand only work from
now on
REXEMBEH the appointment ot Judge
Powers to speak heio It will be the
political occasion of the campaign H
is booked for u big effort and he is a
finished graceful aud powerful speaker
It wont do to miss this The voters of
Utah county of both parties should
hear him
THE escape of the murderers of poor
Burns is deeply regretted by all San
pete and her sister counties ought to
offer such a re ward as would insure
their capture This matter ought to
be taken up at once or before the
wretches get clear out of the country
EVERY true democrat should put in i
every momeit of the time between
now and the election in the mission
ary field There are many honest peo
pie who hunger after political truth
Carry it to them and in time
BOOTH has figured in his last consti
tutionmaking business in Utah H
is already elected to stay at home
Thurman is sent in his place and all
the people cry yea and amen
THE general superiority of the demo
cratic county ticket over the republi
can is the subject of remark in ever
circle Indeed is it very observable
Moral Vote it
I N STEVENS a prominent icpubl
call of Oolrado has deserted the re
publicans and has gone over to the
populists The rats all leave the ship
which is sinking
THE general excellence of the demo
cratic county ticket over that of the
republicans is sn marked that every
body can see it They will vote ac
cordingly
JOE RAWLINS and B H Roberts
have gone south and will wipe all
trace of Frank Cannon and Booth from
the face of the earth in that region
I
Judge POWERS will interest all in
telligent hearers in the underlying
priucipke of the democratic faith
RODEnTS and Rawlins will wake them
up down in Dixie
Deafness Cannot be Cured
by local applications ao they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear
There is only one way to cure deafness
and that is by constitutional remedies
Deatness is caused by an inflamed con
dition of the mucous limn oi the
tiustachian t Tube When this tube
gets inflamed you have a rumbling
sound or imperfect hearing and when I
it is entirely closed deafness s is the re
suit and unless the inflammaion can
e taken out and this tub restored to
ts normal condition hearing willue
destroyed forever nine cases out of ten
are caused by catarrh which nothing
but an inflamed condition of the
mucous surfaces
