A VERY dangerous practice on the
part of a number of young min and
h boys in the northwest part of town is >
reported There are a great many
men at work along the river and in
the brush at different places there and
these boys make a practice daily of
prowling through the brush and shoot
ing at birds etc There are also many
horses and cattle and come stacks ol
hay straw etc If the practice is not
stopped some serious accident will
occursome man or some animal will
be shotor some stack set afire

JAMES GILBERT of Monroe has ap
plied in the First District court for a
writ of mandamus to issue againgt one
Thomas Cooper a justice of the peace
at Monroe commanding Mr Cooper to
reinstate upon his docket for trial a
suit he has dismissed entitled James
Gilbert vs Walter Hyatt Mr Gilbert
alleges that on the first trial of the
cause the jury disagreed that he of
fered a sufficient bond for costs etc
pending a new trial which was illegally
and unjustly refused that on March
14 1891 the justice dismissed the case
taxing the costs 11570 against the
plaintiff and afterwards falsely in
formed Mr Gilberts attorney I J
Stewart that the case was dismissed on
March 211894 that relying upon this
information Mr Gilbert and appeared
before the justice to perfect an appeal
of his case after thirty days time from
March 14th had elapsed and was re
fused the right to appeal

consummated and Provo and other
Utah capitalists are further enriched
with the fairest of fair prospects before
them of going on and on up the ladder

R Cutler Lehi and James Sharp and
John Sharp of Salt Lake and others
have parted with Borne of their shares
of stock in the Sioux group of mines at
Eureka excluding the Utah 80
000 shares in all to George H Robin I
soon superintendent of the Mammoth
mine and Franklin Farrell the multi
millionaire of Ansonia Connecticut
for the sum of 875 000 00 and the pro
ViSSD that the purchasers shall within
the next six months put up a 20 stamp
mill on the property which is admira
bly located for the site of the plant The
company controls its own water rights
and everything is adapted for the op r
ation of a mill The property has an
almost unlimited amoutt of milling
ores already blocked out It is pro
posed to proceed at once with the
carrying out of the contract and the
probabilities are that before the six
months are gone the new mill will be
in operation The deal was completed
in Salt LaKe last evening and as soon
as the papers had been signed and the
transfers were made the old board of
directors resigned and the new one
