AFTER HAVING LAID OUT
A Frail Woman Whom She Thought Was
Luriiie Her Husband PfbnvtbTe Path of
Xectttude ff f Turmoil and Trouble Ensues a
and the Meeting is Postponed
A little incident occurred upon Cen
ter street Provo last night shortly
after 11 oclock that opened the eyes of
some of the boys who witnessed it
ana has led to many conjectures as to
just what business other Wan gambling
IS being conducted in certain uptairs
rooms on Centre street between I
and J
Coming down stairs at about 11
oclock two women were ob
served by certain people who were out
at that hour The women
turned east and a rather windy
young married man a flunky and man
ofall ork about the place in question
by profession was seen to follow them
overtake them stop them and talk to
them The women are Provo girls
one is married and has a husband the
other has been married They both
use choice EaglisQ that kind which
newspapers indicate by means of
dashes
Not much attention was paid to this
meeting but just as it occurred a hack
have in sight from the depot and out of
t jumped Mr s wife she ran over
to where the trio were and a most ani
mated scene then occurred The in
timated woman shook her clenched
fists threateningly in her husbaudo
face jumped upon the other woman
and created quite a disturbance by very
loud talk etc The girls on the side
walk fled and the erring husband was
led by the outraged wife over to the
hack There his eyes beheld the pros
trate form of another woman in a
fainting fit and here comes in the in
teresting part of the story
It seemsaccordfng to the tale that is
told that the wife had suspected tor
some time that her husband was not
leading the virtuous lite he should and
incidentally learned that there was to be
some sort or a bee somewhere between
a few loose women and a few married
men of which her husband
was to be one of the men She planned
a trip away from home to see her
parents and departed yesterday to the
very evident delight of her spouse She
went to Springville from which charm
ing city she had learned two of the
doves were to come Getting a friend
10 join her she came back to Provo cnr
the late tram last night On tbe same
train were the two women against
whom her jealousy j was pitched They
did not know they were being watcheu
Reaching the depot they proceeded to
enter the hack On opening the door
whom should the first one meet
but the irate wife The two
knew each other well The mother
eave her babe to her friend and a very
lively scrap ensued The guilty
woman was chased around the depot
building a time or two and was finally
caught Eisfcuffs hair pulling etc
was indulged In for a brief moment
when the one who wished to flee
fainted She swooned several limes
thereafter and all in all a great and
most peculiarly unpleasant time was
had The fainting woman was bundled
into the Lack all came up town only to
indulge in the scene above described
After a short time the hack was
driven on east and all was still again
What was done with the girls and how
peace in the family was patched up
again is not known It is only known
that a little illicit tote tete by and be
tween or among four fallen women and
as many or more fallen men was
avoided
Undoubtedly the fresh young married I
