Since pur chasing the saw mill at Palouse ami l'Ki.'iOO acres of timber lands from the loi al mill company, the capacity of the saw mill has been doubled and an elec tric light plant added, so that the mil! now runs day and night, thus quad rupling the output fo reach 24 hours. It is evidently the intention of the j syndicate to make Palouse the prin cipal lumber point for its holdings, and to do this it will be necessary to have * railroad to bring the logs to the mill, ; as much of the land controlled by the company is too near the head of the ri\er to permit of the logs being float ed down to the mill.
