tho history of the stnto and nvery
indication points to the construc
tion of several thousand miles of
the best roads iu the country dur
the comi'iK year,

plans are being made to vote thorn
in counties which hr'nipr the total
amount to $33,599,715, to this
will be added a like amount from
the stnto mid Federal Koverninent j
which will make the improvements ;
during tho next yunr, from bonds
alone, reach a total of approxi
In addition to this will be added
the regular road levy and poll tax
nf the state and special taxes
which are being levied in the state.
Money and work donated during
the year is estimated at $2,000,000
by the State Iligiiwoy Commission,
which gave ont tho figures on
which this article is based.
A. W. Graham, chief engineer
of the Commission, is more than
enthused with the. interest that is
being shown by the people of the
state aud expresses the belief that
more than double the amount now
proposed by the people of the
state will be provided by the bond
issue in addition to the $60,000,000
issue submitted by the legislature
on recommendation of Governor
