J believe the trac tor will make farming what it ought to be the mo3t pHeasant, the most healthful, the most profitable business on earth'." This tractor has doncj much very much in bringing true Mr. Ford's prophecy; for in it is a machine which has harnessed one of the most dependable, efficient, adaptable, economical sources of power in the world a machine that saves from thirty to fifty per cent of the farmer's time a machine which many farmers claim plows, harrows or drills as much ground in the same time as four, six or even eight horses. And more a machine that takes care of every power job on the farm. Call and let's talk it over, or telephone or drop us a card and we will bring the facts to you. Only a very limited number of Canadians have received the distinc tion of kninhthood. Among them Gilbert Parker stands out most prom inently, for he has the unique record of acquiring the honor solely as a recognition of his literary gifts. 3inpn mnltintr him a knicht in 1902. the British Empire has conferred ad ditional honors upon him. He was created a baronet of the first class in 1015, a privy councillor in 1910 and later made honorary colonel of the ancient and aristocratic Kent Royal Garrison artillery. He also has a col lection of regular and special college degrees. To most of us he is more impres sive as plain Gilbert Parker, one of the foremost novelists of the day, who was once a poor boy and who rose to his present prominence through the sheer force of ability. He has written about thirty novels, a book of poems, several successful plays and some books on travel. It was the great Canadian story, "The Right of Way," which established him firmly. This paper has secured nnn nf Inn Vfil'V SUCCCSSful StOHeS, "No Defense," for serial printing. It will start soon. Any one who has read the fascinat ing romances by Parker knows what it is to find him at his strongest as in this talc. The sitting is Ireland, Eng land, the Atlantic Ocean and the West Indies, with some connee- of,.?, tions which carry it to the iie oiieieii tor shores of America, during the stirring days of the French Revolution. The story has a dramatic sweep of action that is irresis tible. The author with pene trating insight and groat artistt y has contrasted the 1 risk and English leinperments; as a re sult, many deft and tragi-hum- orous touches enliven me talc.
