Learh t.nd every person resi ding upon any of the Swamp Lam's in any county in this State, and having im provements thereon, or having improve ments thereon only, on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, shail be entitled to enter the same at pri vate entry for the sum of one dollar and twenty-five cents the acre; Provided, That before any person shall be entitled to enter the same as in this sect im pro vided, hebhall prove to the satisfaciion of the county Auditor, by the affidavit of at least two disinterested witnesses, that lie resided and had improvements thereon, or had improvements thereon only, pre vious to the first day of January, 1652; And provided further. That the said ap plicaiion to enter the land claimed under this section, shall be made and the money paid therefor, before the same shall bo offered at public sale. LAW OF MARCH 4. 1853. Sec. I. Be it enacted, $c. That all persons having improvements on any of the swamp lands prior to the first day of January 1853. shall have the right to en ter the same at private entry for the pum of one dollar and iwenty-fie cents the acre, before the offering of the same at public sale, by fully complying with the fortieth section of the act lo which this is supplemental: And provided, that im provements shall mean a houpe thereon, or hcue and land under fence, or land under fence alone.
