She is first in beef cattle with the exception of Texas. She leads all of the corn belt states in sheep but does not have the sheep that nianv of the far western states show. l'n all lines of live stock, however, she is so strong that the sum total surpasses that 6f any other state in the Union. All ol the swine in twenty-eight states ol the Union do not equal in value those of the state of Jowa. The territory which includes all of the north Atlantic states, all of the south Atlantic states and all of the far western states, has swine to the value of $ 101 ,S84,}0.0, .while the swine pf ioya are valued at ?104, 640,000. In fact Iowa has more than 1 4 per cent of all the swine in the entire United States and in value they amount to more than 17 per cent. Iowa's population is only two and a quarter millions while that of these twenty-eight states is more than 50,000,000. Beef cattle are comparatively scarce in Iowa, now, as is the case throughout: the entire country but the Hawkeye state has more beef cattle than all of the north Atlantic states combined. She now has over 2,607,000 beef cattle on her farms, which are valued at $86,000,000. The annual marketing of beef cattle at the seven principal markets of the United States amounts to 8,000. 000. Prices for live stock are high. Horses in Iowa are averaging now $120.00 per head "while the average price in the past ten years has been 196.00 per head. Beef cattle aver age $33.00 per head while the ten year average is $22.30. Swine av erages $12.00 per head here in Iowa while the ten year average has been $8.60 per head. V,, These figures show that Iowa live stock products go a long ways to ward feeding tfye* \fcorld. And this, too, at'a time when the demand is great and the products scarce. Don't stand a couldn't worry if you can't under poem possibly the poet either. Deafness Cannot be Cured by local applications, as the/ cannot reach the dis eased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deafness, and that Is by constitution remedies. Deafncits is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is inflnmed you haYe a rumbling sound or im perfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed. Deaf ness is the result, apd unless the inflamation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal condi tion, hearing will be destroyed foreTer nine cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh, which is nothing but an inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces.
