McCutchan ranch ten miles southeast of that town, was totally destroyed by fire on November 9th. The fire was dis- j* covered by Mr. McCutclian's son,1X Lee, but it had made such headway that nothing could be saved frofh the house, but fortunately he carried in surance on the house. McGaffee, who was quite seriously injured when his auto plunged off the bridge across Little 4. river between Leon and Davis City, on November 9th, being taken to the Leon hospital for treatment, was able to return to his home in Des Moines Monday. He is recovering nicely from his injuries and will be able to return to work as soon as his brok en arm is well.
