After the first shock, you ask how come this the unexpected. It is simply this. Mr. Bishop after
a long and successful life of merchandising decided to sell out and retire. He knew we were about the
only people here who could handle his big stock, so he ask us if we could or would buy it. We told him
we could and would buy any stock no matter how large if the price were low enough. He knew he
would have to make a fearful sacrifice to convert his stock into cash at a single stroke. The sacrifice was
made we own the stock and we are going to pass it on to the trading public at the same terrific sacri
fice of prices.
The best half of the stock will be offered at manufacturer's cost.
Mr. Bishop's cost price will be our selling price.
The remainder will be sold at about one-half its original cost,
The stock was invoiced to us on this basis and off of these appraised prices we get a big discount
which enables us to make the most astounding prices ever offered the trading public of Hopkins County
on strictly High Grade Merchandise.
It is useless for us to say here that Mr. Bishop handled only the highest grade of merchandise.
His lifelong principle has been to buy only from the very best manufacturers.
