Clark County, in which Springfield is
situated, is Republican by only 1,200
msprity, and that if the workmen in
the Bushnell shops should vote for
Jones or McLean this majority would
be wiped out, the importance of a
solid Republican vote can be ap
preciated. In fact, the key to the
situation in the couaty is in these
shops. The Democrats claim that the
men will resent what they call Nash's
insult to Bushnell, while the Re
publicans assert there will be n>? de
feciion.
It is estimated that Bashnell can
personally exert influence over about
500 votes in the city and county out
