Frank Owens Hardware
For a Railroad North From Ripley to Cen
tral Ohio Points.
The projectors of the electric road
north from Ripley met at Hillsboro Mon
day, and we learn from thoee present at
the meeting that if we can comply with
the conditions proposed we can have a
road running from Ripley to Georgetown
by August 15th and to Sardinia by Octo
ber 1st. The conditions are that we fur
nish the right of way from Ripley to Sar
dinia, and subscribe for 80,000 worth of
the bonds of the road.
' The bond question has almost been
settled, as that amount is about arranged
for. With one or two exceptions the
right of way has been secured from
Straight Creek to Sardinia, leaving us to
get it from Straight Creek through Rip
ley. The road is to be operated as a steam
road until completed to Sardinia when
the power bouse will be built, and then
it will be made into an electric line for
passengers and Bteam for freight.
