Miss Greenburg, a vory popular young lady who iccently closed a terra of school at Crown King and who for tho past two weeks has been vfSiting in Preseott, tho guost of Mrs. J. F, Daggs, will open a term of school at Del Rio. Miss Greenburghas acquired quite an enviable reputation as u school teacher during hor service in this county Prescott Journal-Minor. A petition to tho legislature asking for tho passage of a bill to prohibit gambling is being circulated here, other liko petitions having been started throughout tho territory. A bill to this effect has nlrody been prepared by United States District Attorney Nave, and will bo Introduced in the houso at an early date. There seems to bo a sentiment throughout the ter ritory favoring tho prohibition, and it is of such force that tho legislature will pass a law prohibiting gambling within the territory. Uulldlnl a New Home. A. A. Dutton, of Flagstaff, is build ing a handsome rcsidenco at tho cor ner of Sixteenth avenuo and Adams street. It will bo a five-room brick house, with plonty of porches. Mr. Dutton will not spend a groat deal of time there himself, but his family will use It as a winter residonce. Tho lots were bought by Mrs. Dutton sovoral years ago, and over since then Mr. Dutton has been intondlng to havo a winter homo in Phoenix. Republican. Dr. Smlley's Meellnjt The union meetings conducted by Dr. Smlloy and Prof. Hanson, and as sisted by a large chorus choir, has been well attended throughout the week and with excellent results, Tomorrow closes their work here.
