A small but enthusiastic crowd saw tho Columbia Athletic Club aefeat Rutgers Col lege at football yesterday afternoon at the National Park by a score of 20 to 0. Tho Columbias put up a snappy game throughout, their interference being excellent, although outweighed by Euters. Owing to rocont vaccination several crack plajers of tho local team were absent, three substitutes boiu on. Two twenty-minuto halves were piayed, Columbia made a touch-down and a safety in the first half, and in the second two touch downs, goals being kicked from all the touch downs. Thero was but one preliminary bout, that being a friendly setto between Hite Peckham and young Hogau. The latter was in no condition to make any kind of a show ing, and no decision was given. The event of tho evening was the match be tween Johnny Glynn, of Delaware, and Johnny Boyle, of New York. Ihe honors were about evenly divided up to tho sixth round, when Boyle dislocated his left arm while landing a swinging blow, and the lat ter's seconds threw up the sponge. Officers Had to Hestrain Her from Ap proaching Judge Kimball. Four policemen had a sever task in con trolling a tall Irish girl, who gave tho namo of Ella Lyon in the police court yesterday. She had been arrested while wandering aim lessly about the street. During tho progress of other cases, Ella often came to tho front of the prisoners' pen. "What aro you going to do with me?" she would cry in an imperative tone. Finally Judge Kimball said ho was ready to hear her ease. ' "I want to whisper in his honor's ear," said the girl, and she proceeded to carry out her intention. A lmiliff had to bold Ella about the wnist to keep her from mounting tho judge's plat form. Several times she tried to breakaway. "Do you want to go to tho Ifouso of Good Shepherd?" asked thejudge. Three times ho put the question and received no roplv. "It seems that sho is insane. Take her back to await an examination," ordered Judge Kimball. But Ella did not want to go back, and the four patrolmen had to force nor. In case of any disagreement botwoen the driver nud tho passenger of a hack, tho same may bo referred by tho passenger to tho nearost police station, whither tho driver shall convoy him without discussion or delay, and tho decision of tho Lieutenant of Polico or other officer in charge of such station shall be con clusive; and in case the passenger is about to leave by railroad, stage, or steamboat, such dis agreement shall be summarily decided by the polico officer or principal polico ofllcer on duty at tho station or other placo of departure. If decision is in favor of passenger, tho driver must carry him from polico station to his orig inal destination without additional chargo. S-C 5.
