The weather has been warm and clear
since Saturday, but there is every indica
tion that tin.' rain is not yet over.
The market is very quiet, but holders
are generally firm for prices of last week.
The movement is small in everything.
FLOUR There is seme demand for old
stocks and only a light supply. lVices
rule steady and firm notwithstanding the
weakness of surrounding markets.
HAY Very dull. The demand is con
fined to choice grades and only for the
CORN Prices hold steady although
there is a perceptible falling off in both
the milling and order demand. Stocks
OATS Very little doing. There is some
demand without stock to till orders.
MEAL The demand for country meal is
very liiht. City guaranteed finds ready
BUTTER Considerable inquiry for
strictly choice and no reeiepts. Other
gradi-s plenty and very dull.
EGGS Receipts have increased and
now exceed the demand. Prices are weak
and declining, 0 cents being an outside fig
CHICKENS --Choice young chickens
find ready sale on arrival.
FRUIT No choice apples come to mar
ket. Berries of all kinds sell on arrival.
POTATOES Choice are in good de
mand at 50 to 75 cents per bushel.
TOBACCO Receipts are increasing and
prices opt-n a little off t')-day but we
expect them to gain their equilibrium be
fore the Hose of the week.

tariff bill of S 5 marks on the 100 kilo
grams, which is equal to $10.23 per 100
