throughout tho community with regard to
onerous conditions contained in life assur
ance contracts ami tho judicial decisions
based fhercou, together with the public in
dorsement of tho liberal usages of this So
ciety, as sjtown by its largely increased
business, lias led the management seriously
to consider whether tho contract could not
bo simplified nnd certain conditions citsed
therefrom which havo been tho subject of
much criticism and miscoueeption.
After a careful examination of the ex
perience of some of tho best companies in
Great Britain, who havo shown a greater
liberality than has been customary in this
countrv, this society feels justified in adopt
ing a form of contract in which tho follow
ing important concessions aro made to pol
icy holders throughout the United States:
1. Policies will bo made incontestable
after three years from their date.
2. Each ordinary policy will provide for
a definato surrender-value in paid-up assur
ance, in case the policy is forfeited after
three years from its date.
3. Eacn Tontino policy will contain ' a
