Thornton left on a tug this' afternoon to at
tend E. E. Clark, a prominent citizen re
ported dangerously sick at Bradley's Land
ing, eighteen miles up the river. Ilia son,
C. E. Clark, died there yesterday of con
gestion. One case Is reported by the board
ofheal'.h to-day, Mary McGuca. Under
takers report three interments. About two
hundred absentees returned this aftenoon
via' the Louisville railroad. The Howards
will disband the medical corps to-morrow,

Little Rock, Oct. 20. The executive
committee of the state board of health has
releaved all health officers and pickets from
duty, and authorized the running of all
railroad trains. The only restrictions are
upon stoppage of trains at Forest City nnd
receipt of freight or passengers at Memphis
for the present. tDr. John Waters is ap
pointed health officer on Memphis trains.

Meinphians have left for home since the
nnnouucUK-nt of the end ot tho epidemic.
There arc about 250 yet here. They held a
meeting to-day aud made arrangements to
start to-morrow and Tuesday. They havo
secured reduced rates from Cairo by boat,
and both the Ohio and Mississippi and Van
dalia lines have given special rates to Cairo.
The Louisville and Nashville road lias also
agreed to give reduced rates over its line.
