CYCLONE IX AUKAXSAs.
Little Rock, Nov. 11. A terrific storm
passed over a portion of Crawford county
on Saturday last about S p. in. At Van
Duron hail fell in unprecedented quantity.
Ilail-stoncs wore found in the streets two
by three inches in dimension. The centre
of the lorce seemed to be near the National
dome sixteen miles north. The track was
half a mile-wide, aud a clean sweep was
made of everything in the path. Trees
were twirled likfc straws, houses unroofed
and overturned, and in places not even a
sapling was left standing. One house
was lifted and transported out of sight. A
man named John Newton was killed by
his falling hiMise, and quite n number had
their legs or arms broken or were other
wise injured.
