"AN OPEX LETTER."
The following letter from well know
business men of Cairo, whoso policies iu
the Equitable Life having reached the end
of their tontine period, speaks for itself:
Caiko, Ills., March 4th, 1880.
Tu whom It may concern:
We the undersigned citizcus and merchants
of Cairo, Ills,, took out upon our respective
ives, policies In the houitable Lite Assur
ance Society of New York, iu the year 1870
under their plan, known us the tontine, for
ten years; thu rates of premium being the
same, as those charged for ordinary life in
surance. Our teu years now being com-
loted, the Equitable has offered us the fol
lowing remarkable results; First, to re
turn us iu cash trom 8U pep cent, to 91 per
cent, of our premiums paid in,which makes
the insurance cost us for the ten years.
trotn h per cent, to v per cent, ot our orig-
mil premiums, varying nccording to our
ages. ecoinlly, to return us iu cash divi
dends 41 to 45 per ccut. of the total amount
or premiums paid in, and continue the
SERIES NO. 256.
original policy in force for our original
premiums less dividends in cash annually
thereafter. Thirdly, to purchase an annuity
for life with our surplus, which with annual
dividends reduces our subsqucnt premiums
from S5 per cent, to 79 per cent, of the
original premiums. Fourthly, to take paid
up insurance, without further premiums
payable at death, for amount running from.
138 per cent, to 2C3 percent, more than the
premiums we have paid in, according to
our ages. We therefore take pleasure in
testifying.that thu results, ns obtained by the
Equitable upon our Tontine Policies, ex
ceeds our anticipations, and tire from 25
per cent, to 30 per cent, better than the re
sults estimated by their agents. We would
advise those who are seeking for first-class
insurance, and insurance that is by far the
cheapest we ever had brought to our notice,
while absolutely safe, to carefully investi
gate the merits of the F.quitable and its
Tontine plans of insurance.-

BttowN's Household Panacea is the
most effective pain destroyer in the world.
Will most surely quicken the blood wheth

and thereby more certainly relieve pain,
whether chronic or acute, than any other

the strength of any similar preparation.
It cures pain in the side, back or bowels,
sore throat, rheumatism, toothache, and all

Gentlemen. I have used Warner's Safe
Kidney and Liver Cure with the greatest
satisfaction. It is the only icmedy I have
ever used that I can recommend to my
friends", as it has cured me of Bright's Dis
ease of long standing, after having visited
the White Sulphur Springs of Virginia,
nnd trying innumerable so-called "reme
dies" of the day. Having resided here lor
forty-seven years, my friends will be glad
to see this statement. The discoverer is,
indeed, a public beuefactor.
