SALETYFItOM A PESTILENTIAL SCOL'ItfiE.
Protection from the disease, not a medi
cinal aent which merely checks the par
oxysms, 13 tho grand desideratum wherever
tlio endemic scourge of malaria prevails.
Quinine does not afford this protection.
Fhe chief reason why Hostetters Stomach
Bitters has won such immeusc popularity
is that it prepares the system to resist the
malarial pest. This it does by bracing,
and toning the physical organism; regulat
ing and promoting an equal flow and dis
tribution of the animal fluids, aud estab
lishing digestion on a sound basis. Not
only is fever and ague prevented, but the
worst types ot the disease are conquered
by it. Such is the only just conclusion to
lie drawn lroui the ovcrwhclnun&r evidence
in its favor. It is equally efticacious in
dyspepsia, constipation, liver complaint
and general debility, and rheumatic com
plaint, and is a reliable diuretic and nervine.
THE new your democracy.
Washington, April 27. Private advices
received here from New York throw a good
deal of light on the Di;uiicratic situation in
that state. Tin y tire to the effect that anti
Tilden men have made up their minds that
the party shall be united in favor of any
nomination that may be made ut Cincin
nuti. Prominent leaders of the Tammany
faction say they are willing to go into the
fight with Kelly against Tildeu's nomina
tion, but beyond that they will not go.
They are for harmonious and united action
in the campaign that will tollow the con
vention, and will not permit Kelly to stand
in the way. The state of New York must
give its vote to the Di-inucratic ticket, and
nothing in the nhupe of personal quarrels
shall prevent it. If Tilden shall be the
choice ot the Democratic convention, he
will receive the support of the Dumocruts
of New York. It is even said by some of
the men who are now working with Tam
many that Kelly will etidunger his suprem
acy and even his membership in that or
ganization should he stand out against the
wishes of the national Democracy.
A NOTORIOCS HANKIUTTlY CASE.
Indianapolis, April 27. No accident in

Better Timfs. The business revival
and new era of prosperity which is now
fairly inaugurated, is iu keeping with the
increased health and happiness seen all over
the land, and is one of the results obtained
from the introduction of Warner's Safe Kid

by this remedy," says Rev. Dr. Harvey,
"seem but little less than miraculous."
Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup. Rev.
Sylvantts Cobb thus writes iu the Boston
Christian - Freeman : We would by no
means recommend any kind of medicine
which we did not know to be good parti
cularly for infants. But ot Mrs. Wiuslow'a
Soothing Syrup we can speak from know
ledge; in our own family it has proved &
blessing indeed, by giving an infant troubl
ed with-colic pains, 'quiet sleep, and tho
parents unbroken rest at night. Most parents
can appreciate these blessings. Here is an
article which works to perfection, and whicli
is harmless; for tho sleep which it ufford
the infant is perfectly natural, and the little
cherub awakes as "bright as a button."
And during the process of teething, its
value is incalculable. We have frequently
heard mothets say that they would not bo
without it trom tho birth of tho child till it
htnl finished with the teething siege, on any
consideration whatevor. Sold by all drug
gists. ' cents a bottle.
