The month of May has opened bright and
beautiful as is usually expected of it, but
the first few days of its beauty is likely to
be marred by a storm that, judging from
the aspect of the weather to-night, is near at

prices unchanged. The bulk of transac
tions is in choice grades.
COKN Keeeipts are fair and the de
mand limited. Transactions are unusually
small for this season of the year.
OATS-Dull and unsettled. The demand
is small and prices unchanged.
MEAL Quiet and easy. The movement
is small and prices nominally unchanged.
BUTTER -Continues to grow dull, as the
weather grows warmer. Prices arc weak
EGGS Scarce und steady. Receipts are
small, and sales arc readily made at quota
tions. POTATOES Overstocked and no de
mand for old. The new crop of early pota
toes are taking the place- of the old tor
ONIONS The- new crop sells readily at
$4.50 per barrel.
