VThe Women's Education association, of
Bobton, In the third year of its existence,
can make as brave a show of solid work
for the improved education of women, as
any society in America. Incorporated a
an association of the best women in Boston
with a general mission of "promoting the
better education of women," it has already
become a power in the city. It has inter
ested itsoit in the introduction ot women
to the institute of Technology; in the Har
vard examinations for women; in the
scheme for privute collegiate instruction
for women in Cambridge; in the Boston
cooking-school; in the publication of tracts
on moral and physical education ; in the
school of art needle-work j in the teaching
of sewing in public schools; and in the es
tablishment of the girl's latin school in
Boston. Its ''parlor meetings1' furnish a
select and influential audience for hearing
and discussing important papers on the
whole range of educational life. There is
no end to the good work that may be done
by such an association of the foremost wo
men of any city or town.
The regular literary exercises of the Wo
man's Club and Library association held
last Wednesday afternoon, were unusually
interesting. A biographical sketch of the
iife of America's greatest poet, William
Cullen Bryant, was read by Mrs. T. B.
Ilndson. Appropriate selections lrom the
writings of the poet were given by the fol
lowing members, Mrs. Adams, Mrs. L.
Powell, Mrs. William Winter, Mrs. W. R.
Smith and Miss Mary McKee. The beauti
ful poem, "Thanatopsis'1, was given as a
recitation by Mrs. Alice Taylor.
A ten volume dictionary of the ancient
language, of France has just been sent to
press and the first volume is out. It has
cost the complier thirty years1 work and
10,000. The government gives $30,000
toward it and receives 200 copies for dis
tribution among the public libraries and
colleges of France. This work deals chief
ly in words found in the literature of the
eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
The study diss in English literature, of
the W. C. and L. A., will meet for the prcs
ent at the residence of Mrs. Geo. Fisher,
every Monday afternoon, i at half-past 2
o'clock. A cordial invitation is extended
to all members.
Ocr friends in social science work will
no doubt be interested iu the following,
xopied from Social Science Journal: "A
desire seems to be gaining ground that lo
cal societies, auxiliary to the state associa
tion be formed, in which practical social
science work suited to the needs of differ
ent localities may be undertaken. Mrs.
Candee's letter iu the April number of the
Journal gave an account of the re
organization of the Cairo society
with a strong leaning toward art.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Candee, who
is a member of the art committee of the
state association, this is quite natural.
Mrs. Candee is committed to the faith in
the direction of the practical arts wood
carving, wood engraving, design, architec
ture, etc. a congenial and profitable field
of employment awaits women of talent,
who are willing systematically and
thoroughly to fit themselves for the best
work. In her busy brain arc developing
plans which, if not thwarted by untoward
circumstances, will result in something
more than mere dilettantism.
Is Yovn Hair Fallinu oh Tvrninu
Gray? "London Hair Color Restorer," the
most cleanly and delightful article ever in
troduced to the Americau people. It is
totally different from all others, not sticky
or gummy, and free from all impure in
gredients that render many other prepara
tions obnoxious. It thickens thin hair, re
stores gray hair,1 gives it new life, cures
dandruff, causing the hair to grow where it
has fallen off or become thin, does not soil
or stain anything, and is so perfectly and
elegantly prepared as to make it a lasting
hair dressing and toilet luxury. London
Hair Color Restorer is sold by all druggists
at 75 cents a bottle, or six bottles for 4.

Woman's Wisdom. "She insists that it
is moro importance, that her family shall
bo kept in lull health, than that she should
have all the fashionable dresses and styles
of the times. She therefore sees to it, that
each member of her family is supplied
with enough Hop Bitters, at the first ap
pearance of any symptoms of ill health, to
prevent a fit of siekness with its attendant
expense, care and anxiety. All women
should exercise their wisdom ia this way."

Just received at The Bulletin office a
stock of paper especially for "Hectograph1
Brown's Household Panacea is the
most effective pain destroyer in the world.
Will most surely quicken the blood wheth
er taken internally or applied externally,
and thereby more certainly relieve pain,
whether chronic or acute, than any other
pain alleviator, and it is warranted double
the strength of any similar preparation.
It cures pain in the side, back or bowels,
sore throat, rheumatism, toothache, and all
aches, and is the great reliever of pain,
"Brown's Household Panacea" should be
in every family. A teaspoonful of the Pan
acea in a tumbler of hot water (sweetened
if preferred), taken at lied time, will break
up a cold. 25 ets. a bottle. '
Much mckness, nnaouoteUly witn chil
dren, attributed to other causes, is occasion
ed by worms. Brown's Vermifuge Comfits,
or Worm Lozenges, although effectual in
destroying worms, can do no possible in
jury to tbe most delicate child. This val
uable combination has been successfully
used by physicians, and found te be abso
lutely sure in eradicating worms, so hurtful
to children. Twentv-five cents a box.
The Stcueokn Convinced. In writing
ot Warner's Safe Kidney and Liver Cure,
Warner's Safe Bitters, and other of War
ner's Safe Remedies, the "Sentinel," Weeds
port, N. Y., has the following: "That
these possess all the remedial qualities
claimed for them is a matter beyond dis
pute; bona fide testimonials by the thous
and from well known citizens in public and
private life, are evidences strong enouch to
convince the most stubborn doubter that
they are the best medicines for diseases for
which recommended, ever yet known to
the public or the physician."
Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrcp. Rev.
Sylvanus Cobb thus writes in the Boston
Christian Freeman : We would by no
means recommend any kind of medicine
which we did not know to be good par
ticularly for infants. But of Mrs. Wins
low's Soothing Syrup we can speak from
knowledge; in our own family it has proved
a blessing indeed, by giving an infant
troubled with colic, pains, quiet sleep, and
the parents unbroken rest at night. Most
parents can appreciate these blessings,
llere is an article which works to perfec
tion, and which is harmless; for the sleep
which it affords the infant is perfectly nat
ural, and the little cherub awakes as
"bright as a button." And during the
process of teething, its value is incalcula
ble. We have frequently head mothers say
that they would not be without it from the
birth of the child till it had finished with
the teethinir siege, on any consideration
whatever. Sold by all druggists. Twenty
five cents a bottle.
No preparation of Hypophosphites I
