Tho weather is cool and pleasant at
times, almost too cool for comfort, after the
ecigc of heat last week.
We have little it any changes to note in
the general condition of the market, and
do not anticipate any until the new crop
begins to move.
Tobacco continues active and prices rule
6teady and firm.
FLOUR We note a slight increaBC in
the demand for old, the stock of which is
beginning to run low. The first shipment
of new flotir waB received from off the line
of the Cairo and Vincenncs railroad yester
day, and bears favorable comparison with
old ol same grade.
HAY Choice is in fair demand. Com
mon is overstocked and almost unsaleable.
CORN Receipts are moderate and the
OATS Not much doing. Prices con
tinue without change.
MEAL Meady and unchanged.
BRAN ritnty and weak, CO cents on
outside figures to-day.
BUTTER Choice is scarce and firm.
Common plenty and very dull.
EGGS Steady and firm. Receipts fall
short of the demand.
POULTRY Young chickens sell readi
ly on arrival. All kinds are scarce and
POTATOES Very little doing. Old arc
scarce and in demand, new plenty and
FRUIT Strawberries have almost dis
appeared from the market and in their
plate we have blackberries, raspberries,
cherries and green apples. All kinds are
in good demand.

be taken to Evansville to receive her outfit
The Virgic Lee is due to-night lor the

Mr. Chas. Leland, formerly on the
wharf boat here, passed up on the Golden
Crown yesterday, on his way to Richmond,
Va., where be has accepted a position on
the Richmond and Alleghany railroad.
The Belle Memphis having made her
latt trip in the Memphis trade, the Stc
Genevieve will probably leave St. Louii to
night in her place. The Belle will be dis
mantled, and her machinery placed in a
new hull, to be named the Aunt Betsey
(after the captain,)
The pen and ink portrait mentioned a
few days ago in Thk Bcu.etin, is still on
exhibition, and having received some addi
tional features, it will prove more interest
ing than ever. Those desiring to see a fine
