The weather is clear and exceedingly
cold for this climate. The first frost of the
season fell last Sunday morning, but was
not keen enough to produce any visible ef
fect on vegetation.
Business averages only so so. Corn,
meal and flour are firm and active, but
other branches at the market are on the
FLOUR The market is steady and firm
with a good demand in choice grades and
an upward tendency iu prices.
IIAY The market is steady with fair
receipts, but no surplus of choice.
CORN The demand is limited, but re
ceipts are very light and prices rule firm.
OATS The demand Iish fallen off,
stocks aro accumulating and prices aro
CABBAGE The demand continues
steady and active.
MEAL The supply and demand are
about equal and prices are firm. No
country meal arrives.
BRAN Scarce and in demand. Stocks
are all held by the mills.
BUTTER We uoto an accumulation of
stocks and a consequent weakening in
EGGS The change to cold weather
should have a food effect on the market,
but it has not yet been felt, Prices arc
weak and unsteady.
POULTRY Turkeys arc in fair demand
at quotations. Chickens are overstocked
and vcjy dull.
APPLES The demandis very small and
only to fill orders,
POTATOES AND ONIONS-Thesc es
culents are very quiet but unchanged as to
prices. The market is well supplied for
fe'ales and Quotations!.
