Tho injurious effects of tho present pro
tracted Bpell of dry weather aro being felt
by both farmers and business men, and aro
being aggravated by the unusual heat with
which this portion of the country is at
present afflicted. As. tho result of this
weather there will be but a comparatively
email crop of strawberries.
FLOUR There is only a moderate de
mand and that for best grades. The mark
et rules steady and firm.
HAY The market Is sick. Receipts at
present aro small but tho market is over
stocked and tho demand is very small.
CORN White continues steady although
not so stiff. Mixed is weaker and shaded
in favor of buyers.
OATS The market is inclined to weak
en and prices tend downward.
MEAL The market is booming and city
meal has advanced to $3.00.
BRAN Quiet and easy at quotations.
BUTTER Only strictly choice and very
little of that wanted. Common butter is
ECGS Scarce and in good request at
CHICKENS Steady and unchaneed.
POTATOES Unchanged and very little
BERRIES Strawberries are growing
scarcer and prices will advance. Other
fruits are not yet arriving in any consider
