The weather is cooler and pleasantcr
since the rain of yesterday and last5 night.
Business eominues fair for the season, as
this is about the' time when buyers and
sellers disagree as to values. Some branches
of trade are unusually active and firm.
FLOUR Ilolders are very firm' and
buyers decline to take hold at present stiff
figures, consequently transactions outside
of the order trade are very small.
HAY Receipts havo increased and the
demand is falling off. Nothing at all do
ing to speak of.
CORN Steady and firm. All kinds in
good condition are in active demand.
OATS The supply is moderately large
arid the demand light. Trices rule firm. '
" MEAL Very firm. The demand for
city rfteal exceeds the supply.
BRAN-Plenty and in light demand.
BUTTER Market overstocked and dull.
Prices weak and unsettled.
EGGS Good demand for all that arrives.
CHICKENS Old are plenty and easy.
Young chickens are in good demand and
FRUIT Not enough small fruits come
in to supply the local demand.
