Monday Evening, August 8, 1881.
If thu rain fulls upon the juut and uioa
the unjust the question arrises what mid
dle grounds do the people of Cairo occupy
that no rain falls upon them. Reports of
copious showers in the east and the west,
in the north and the south and in all the
country around about us come to us, while
Cairo continues parched with heat and suf
focated with dust.
The rain will come too late to benefit
farmers in their corn and other growing
crops, which cannot, under ary circum
stances, yield more than a third ; but it
must come on to make it possible to
plow the ground and sow even a fair acre-
ago of wheat for the next year's harvest.
FLOUR Choice and family continues
very scarce and n the demand is confined
to these grades the movement is neces
sarily very light. Farmers and millers and
dealers are holding and storing grain for
the rise in prices that is sure to take place
butore the fall trade sets in.

A Haptfat Minister's Experience.
I am a Baptist minister, and before I
even thought of being a clergyman, I
graduated in medieiue, but left a lucrativo
practice tor my present profession, 40 years
ago. I was for many years a sufferer from
quinsy ; "Thomas' Eclccti ic Oil cured me."
I was also troubled with hoarseness, and
Thomas' Eclcctric Oil always relieved me.
My wife, and child had diptheria, and
"Thomas Eclectric Oil cured them," and if
taken in time it will cure seven times out ot
ten. I aui confident it is a euro for the
most obstinate cold or cough, and if any
one will take a small teaspoon and half till
it with the Oil, aud then place the end of
the spoon iu one nostril aud draw the Oil
out of the spoon into the head by smiling
as hard as they can until the Oil falls over
into tho throat, and practice that twice a
week, I don't care how offensive their head
may be, it will clean it out and cure their
catatTh. For deafness and earache it has
done wonders to my certain knowledge. It
is the only medicine dubbed patent medi
cine that I have ever felt like recommend
ing, and 1 am very anxious to see it in every
place, for I tell you that I would nut be
without it in my house for any considera
tion. I am now suffering with a pain like
rheumatism in my right limb, and nothing
relieves me like Thomas' Eclectric Oil.
