ORDINANCE NUMBER FIVE
Prohibiting Females and Minors from
Entering Saloons.
He it ordained by the Mayor and
Common Council of tlio City of Globo:
SECTION I.
That it shall bo unlawful for any
woman, female person or minor, for any
purposo whatsoever, to enter any saloon
or any wineroom .connected thcrowith,
or any other place within the corporato
limits of tho City of Olobo whoro intox
"iontiiig liquors are sold to bo consumed
iiHn tlo prcmisos.
section it.
That it shall bo unlawful for any sa
loon proprietor or person in charge of
any saloon, wiuo room, or othor place
where intoxicating liquors nro sold to
be consumed on the promises, to pormit
any woman, fomalo person or minor to
enter or remain therein for any purpose
whatsoever,
SECT ON TIT.
That any femalo person or minor, or
proprietor of, or person in chargo of,
any saloon or wiuo room, violating the
provisions of this Ordinance shall bo
punished by a fino of not less than five
nor more than two hundred dollars, or
by imprisonment not oxcocding three
m6nths, or by both such fino and 'im
prisonment. SECTION IV.
It is provided that this ordinance
ball not apply to houses of prostitu
tion maintained by femalo and em
ploying females only, or to. hotols or
restaurants.
SECTION V.
This ordinance shall go into effect on
the 1st day of February, A. D; 1907.

ORDINANCE NUMBER SIX
An Ordinanco Regulating Proceedings
for tho Punishment of Violators of Or
dinances of tho City of Olobo and
Providing for the Collection of Fines
and Penalties "VhiehShall Accruo to
the City of Globe on Account of Such
Violation.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and
Common Council of tho Citv of Globe:
SECTION I.
The proceedings against any person
or persons for or on account of alleged
violation of any of tho ordinances of the
City of Globo may be prosecuted bofore
any Justice of tho Peace residing in
said City, and all money collected or
received for flnos, penalties and forfeit
uros shall be paid into the treasury of
the city as hereinafter provided; such
proceedings shall bo commenced by
complaint signed and sworn to before
such Justice, stating tho clause or
clauses of the ordinanco which it is
alleged have been violated.
SECTION IT.
Whenever any complaint is fded with
any Justice of tho Peace residing in
the said City of Globe, charging the
violation of any ordinanco of tho City
by any natural porson or persons, a
warrant shall bo issued thoreupon by
such Justice for the arrest of the of
ruder and trial of the alleged offender
shall be had before such Justice in like
manner as in tho case of misdemeanors
under the laws of tho Territory of Ari
zona; in the event of tho conviction
of the offender tho judgmont may re
quire the party convicted to pay a fine,
or be imprisoned, or both, or pay a fine
" and stand committed to the jail of the
county or tho calaboose of tho City of
Globe until tho paymont of such fine
or to be confined at hard labor upon the
streets or public works of the City ac
cording to tho provisions of tho Ordin-
nnee or clause of the Ordinance vio
lated. Where a fino or penalty has been
imposed by the Court, upon tho convic
tion of any person or persons, and tho
judgment of tho Court does not provide
or impose any imprisonment for non--paymeut
thereof; tho same may be col
lected by an nation of debt as herein
provided as to corporations.
SECTION III.
Where a complnint filed with such
Justica of tho Peace, charging tho vio
lation of any of tho ordinances of the
eity by a corporation, said Justico of
tho Peace shall issue a summons, signed"
by himself with his name of office, re
quiring such corporation to appear bo
fore him at a specified time and place
to answer tho chargo; tho time to bo not
less than fivo days after tho sorvico of
the summons.
SECTION IV.
Tho summons shall bo substantially
in tho following form: "In tho Jus

In and Tor tho County of Gila, Torri-
tory of Arizona, boforo .. .... .,
Justice of the Peace. Tho City of
Globo, Plaintiff, vs ,
Defendant. Tho City of Globo to the

at my office, in the City of Globe on
(specifying tho date and hour) to an
swer to n charge mado ngainst you
upon-tiie complaint of
for (designating tho offense generally).

tion states that tho dofondnnt named in
tho writ has no proporty subject to oxo
cution sufficient to satisfy such judg

SECTION VIII.
It shall bo tho duty of tho City Mur
shul to fllo and swear to all complaints
for tho violation of any ordinanco of
tho City for tho recovery of any fine,
penalty or forfoituro imposed for tho
violation thereof, to execute wnrrants
that should bo executed thoroundor,
serve all summons issued in notions of
recovery of any fines, penalties or for
feitures; and to servo nil processes
therein both final and mesne; to collect
all fines and pay tho same weokly as
collected to tho City Treasurer; to koop
account of all fines and monoyt) col
lected by him and innko a Rtntomcnt
thoreof monthly to tho Common Coun
oil. SECTION IX.
Complaints filed under tho provisions
of this Ordinance may also bo signed
and sworn to by any porson and it
shnll bo tho duty of nny porson becom
ing awaro of tho violation of nny Or
dinanco of the City to mako n com
plaint, charging tho violator thoreof
with such violation, boforo a Justice
of tho Peace residing in tho City.
SECTION X.
All complaints, suits and proceedings
for violation of any ordinance or parts
thoreof shall bo in the namo of the
City of Olobo as Plaintiff, and nil pro
cesses issued in any suit or proceeding
shall issue in the namo of tho City of
Globe. .
SECTION XI.
No costs or foos"shnll in any event
bo charged to tho City except costs of
necessary publication in any proceed
ing. SECTION X1L
This Ordinance shall take effect from
and after its passage.

upou conviction, nnd tho snmo is not
forthwith paid, said fine shall bo en
forced by a writ of execution against
tho estnto of tho defendant as in othor
like cases.
SECTION VII
When nny judgmont upon an action
of debt ngainst a nntural porson may
havo been rendered in favor of tho
City of Globo; whon such action of
debt was brought to recover any fine,
penalty or forfeituro accruing undar the
ordinances of said City, the same shall

Be it ordained by the Mnyor and
Common Council of tho City of Globo:
SECTION I.
Tf any person shall apjtear in any
place within tho City of Globo in a
statc-of nudity, in a dress not belonging
to his or her sex, or in any indecent or
lewd dress, or shall make any indecent
exposure of his or her person, or be
guilty of any lewd, indecent net or
behavior, or shall expose, sell or offer
for sale any indecent or lewd book, pie
turo or other things, or shnll exhibit
or perforin any indecent, immoral or
lewd play or other representations, ev
ery such person shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction there
of shall bo fined in a sum not exceeding
three hundred dollars, or shall bo con
fined at hard labor on tho streets and
public works of tho City for a period
not exceeding three months.
SECTION n.
If nny person shall bo drunk or shall
be in a stato of intoxication in any
highway, street, thoroughfare or other
public placo within this city, or shall
be drunk and disorderly in n,ny prlvnto
houso or place, or sTiall abuse another
by using menacing, insulting, slander
ous or profane language, or shall com
mit an assault Or battery upon another,
every such person shall bo deemed guil
ty of a inisdomennor nnd upon convic
tion thereof shall be fined in any sum
not loss than five nor more than fifty
dollnrs, or shnll bo confinod nt hard
labor upon tho streets and public works
of the City for a period not exceeding
thirty days.
SECTION III. "
If any person shnll immoderately ride
or drive any horse in nny avenue, street,
alley or lane, or rido or drive faster
than a walk across nny bridge, within
tho limits of this city, every such por
son shall be deemed guilty of a misde
meanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined in any sum not exceeding
one hundred dollars or shall bo confined
at hard labor ujmn the streets nnd pub
lic works of tho City for a period not
oxceeding two months.
SECTION IV.
If any person shall within this city
mako or assist in making any improper
noise, riot, disturbance or breach of the
peace, he shall bo doomed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall bo fined in a sum not ex
ceeding ono hundred dollars, or shall be
confined nt hard labor upon tho stroots
and public works of tho City for a pe
riod not oxceeding two months.
SECTION V.
If any porson shnll disturb any law
ful af.somblago of people by loud or
indecent behavior or profane discourse
or othorwiso, ho shall bo loomed guilty
oi n misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall bo fined in any sum not
oxceeding ono hundred dollars or shall
bo confined at hard labor upon the
streets nnd public works of tho city
for a poriod ,,ot exceeding two months."
SECTION VI.
Any person or persons who shall'kecp
any common, ill governed or disorderly
house, or who shall suffer nny drunken
ness, quarreling, fighting or riotous or
disorderly conduct whatever on his
premises shall bo guilty of n misde
meanor and upon conviction thereof
shnll bo finod in nny Bum not exceeding
three hundred dollars or shall bo con
fined at hard labor upon tho streets and
public works of tho City for n period
not oxceeding threo months.
SECTION VII.
If any saloon, gnmbling house, or
houso of prostitution or dnnco houso
keoper, or proprietor of any plnco
wherein intoxicating or malt liquors nro
sold, or the agents or dorks of nny
such proprietor or koepor shall sell or
permit to bo sold in his or her or any
other plnce of business to any minor,
any such liquors, ho shall bo deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con
viction thoreof shall bo fined in nny
sum not excocding fifty dollnrs or bo
confined nt hurd labor upon tho streets
nnd public works of tho City for n
poriod not exceeding thirty days.
section vm.
If nny person shall dig nny hole,
trench or ditch in any street or alley
of this City without having first ob
tained a written permission from the
Supervisor of Streets, ho shnll bo deem
ed guilty of a misdomennor nnd upon
conviction thoreof shall be fined in nny
sum not excocding ono hundred dollnrs
of shall bo confined nt hard labor upon
tho HtreetH nnd public works of the
City for n period not excoodiug thirty
dnys.
SECTION IX.
All able bodied persons not having
visible means to maintain themselves
and who livo daily without employment
or nro found loitering nround or walk
ing nbrond nud lodging in tippling
houses, hntlf rooms, out houses and
houses of ill fame, sheds, stables, or an
wagons or boxes, or in tho open nir, or
who shall be found trespassing upon
privnto premises nt nny timo nnd not
giving good account of themselves, or
walking abroad and begging or going
about from door to door begging or pine
ing themselves in the streets or other
thoroughfares or any other public places
and begging nnd receiving alms, and nil
persons upon whom thero shnll be found
nny instrument or thing used for tho
commission of burglnry or for picking
locks, who cannot govo a good account
of their possession, shall bo deemed va
grants, nnd guilty of hnving committed
a misdemeanor, nnd upon conviction
thoreof shnll be finod in a sum not ex
ceeding threo hundred dollars, or shall
bo confinod at hard labor upon tho
streets and public works of the City
for n poriod nut exceeding three
months; Provided, that this shall not
apply to any prostitute having a per
mit. SECTION X.
It shall bo unlawful for uny porson,
firm or corporation to erect on the side
walk of any street of the City of Globe
an awning post or ground support.
SECTION XI.
It shnll bo unlawful for any person,
firm or corir:ition to use, occupy or
obstruct nny sidewalk or any street in
the City of Globo for the purjwse of
displaving goods, wares or morchnudise.
SECTION XII.
It shall bo unlawful for any person,
firm or corjKiration to erect or maintain
or allow nny pcnuu to erect or main
tuin nny booth, stand or counter on any
sidewnlk of the City of Globe, or koop
or maintain upon tho street any wugou,
cart, wheel, vehicle, movable booth or
stand for the purpose of barter or trade
except under license or contract with
the Common Council of the City of
Globe.
SECTION XIII.
It shall be unlawful for any porson to
deposit upon tho strcots, alloys, public
grounds or upon any vacant lot of the
City of Globo any refuse, garbage,
waste pajer or debris of any nature, ex
cept at such times nud places and under
such regulations as the Common Council
mny from time to timo poiut out or
adopt.
SECTION XIV.
It shall bo unlawful for any person
hnving charge or control of a job wag
on, to occupy as a stand for tho same
any portion of any street, in front of
any building or vacant lot where the
owner of such building or vacant lot
or any occupant of the street floor of
such building shall object; provided,
that nothing in this ordinance shall
prevent the owner or driver of any job
wngon or market wagon from stopping
in any place other than a public cross
ing of any public street for tho purpose
of receiving or delivering any goods,
wures or merchandise.
SECTION XV.
Any prostitute, courtesan or lewd
woman who shall, within tho limits of
the City, by word, sign or action, ply
hor vocation upon tho streets, or make
any public meretricious display of her
self upon the streets or in nny public
place, shall be deemed guilty of n mis
demeanor, nnd upon conviction thereof
shall bo fined in any sum not exceeding
fifty dollars, or imprisoned in the Coun
ty or City jail for" any period of time
not exceeding one month, or bo pun
ished by both such fino nnd imprison
ment. SECTION XVI.
If any person shall leave any horse,
horses or other animals attached to any
carriage, wngon, cart or othor vchiclo
in any street", avenue, nlloy or lano
within this City without securoly fas
tening the same, or without tho same
boing fnstened by a chain or strap from
the bit to h metal weight upon tho
ground, such weight weighing at least
fifteen pounds for a single horse and
twenty-fivo pounds for a team, every
such person shall bo deemed guilty of
having committed a misdemoanor, and
upon conviction thereof, shall bo fined
in n sum not oxceeding jlf ty dollars, or
bo imprisoned in tho City or County
jail for n poriod of timo not exceeding
ono month, or be punished by both such
fine nnd imprisonment.
SECTION XVII.
If nny person shall, within the cor
porato limits of tho City of Globo, enrry
concealed upon his person nny gun, pis
tol, bowio knife, dagger or othor deadly
weapon, ho shall be deomed guilty of
having committed n misdomennor, and
upon conviction thereof shall bo fined
in nny sum not oxceeding three hun
dred dollars or bo imprisoned in the
County or City jail for any poriod of
time not exceeding three months, or bo
punished by both such fino nnd impris
onment; provided, that this section shnll
not bo construed to apply to Sheriffs,
Constables, Marshals or Polico Officers,'
when exercising their Jcgitimato duties.
SECTION XVIII.
Any porson who shall intorforo with,
resist, molest, or thronton to molest,
any officer ofsnid City of Globo in
the exercise of his official duties, shall
be liable to a fino in any sum not ex
ceeding ono hundred dollars, or to im
prisonment not more than thirty days,
or both fino nnd imprisonment.
SECTION XIX.
Any porson violating nny of the pro
visions of this ordinance for which an
other penalty is not provided shnll bo
deemed guilty of a misdomennor nnd
upou conviction thoreof shall bo fined
in any sum not moro thnn threo hun
dred dollnrs or shall be confined at hnrd
labor upon tho stroots nnd public works
of the "City, for a period not exceeding
threo months.
SECTION XX.
This Ordinanco shall take effect and
bo in forco from nnd after its passage.
