cessors mid ussigns, shall not cause ma
terial damage to the public streets

private property, or unnecessary injury
or obstructions to the public streets oi
alloys in building thoir pole lines or
other necessary appliances: but tho Said
Globe Hlectnc Light & Gas Company,
or its successors or assigns, alinll, at all
time, bo responsible for any dmunge
occasioned thereby, mid that the said
Glolio hlectnc Light & Gas Company,
its successors nud assigns, shall at all
tinio-s keep tho portions of tho streets,
lanes, alloys, or public grounds, used
for the purpose of building said polo
linos and other necessary appliances,
aforesaid, in as good condition as the

Hilo linos and other appliances upon,

loys, and public grounds aforesaid, and
this franchise or permission shall bo

any permissions hereof.
And it is further resolved that the

grant other and like franchises to other
applicants at any time horeaftor, as
they may doom fit mid proper, and the
ooHts of the publishing the proceedings
of this resolution shall be taxed to said
Globo Kleotric Light & Gas Company,
its successors and asigus.

The Board then proceeded to take up
the matter of petitions signed by the
proporty holders living within the Vil
lage of Globe, asking that saidVillago
of Globe bo disincorporated and rqin
corornted as a town under the name of
Globe. The Board being advised in the
promises mid acting within the jurisdic
tion of the powers of said Board, upon
motion duly made without any dissent
ing vote the following was ordered

A petition having been prosei!ted to
the Board of Supervisors of Gila Coun
ty, Torritory of Arizona, praying said
Boiml of Supervisors to disincorporate
the village of Globe and to reineoriior-
ato said village undor the name of
Globo; said petition having been tiled
jmrsuant to the provisions of Para
graph fiUO, Chapter IX, Title 11, of the
Revised Statu to of the Torritory of
Arizona, 1001, and it apparing to this
Boaid that the village of Globo has
Imretofore, on the 1th day uf October,
1SS0, duly incorporated within the fol
lowing established boundaries, to wit:

dle line of Broad street intersected the
Mwth boundary of the Merrill and Kot
ohum mill site (said south boundary be
ing identical with the extended south
boundary of Lot 33 in Block 73 in
Globe townsite according to the oilicinl
"map thereof) running thence south 21

side center, running thoncc east 21
degrees north one-half mile to the south
east corner of snid village; thence north
51 degrees wont one mile to the north
east corner, thence wost 21 degrees

to the southwest corner, thoncc oast 24

south side center.
And it further appoaring to this
Board from an examination and road
ing of said potition and(jf tho Tax
Roll of Gila County for tho-ear 1900,
and from other documentary and oral
evidence produced on tho part of peti
tioners, that a majority of the taxable
inhabitants of snid village of Globe,
within tho boundaries hereinabove men
tioned, have signod said potition to dis
incorporate said village of Globe and
to reincorporate tho snme as a town,
within said boundaries, under the nuuit?
of Globo; and this Hoard being fully
advised in the promise and being satis
fied that a majority of the taxable in
habitants rosiding within the boundar
ies of said village of Globe as herein
above mentioned and sot forth have

Suirt-rvisors of Gila County, Territory
of Arizona, hereby ordered that the vil
luge of Globe, within the boundaries
hereinabove inutitinued, bo nud the same
is hereby disincorporated, and that said
village of Globe be, and tho same is
hereby reincorporated as a town, under
the uamo of Globe; and that tho boun
daries of said village of Globo hereby
disincorporated are re-established, con
firmed and mado the boundaries of tho
said town of Globe, said boundaries so

An Ordinance Establishing a Pound in
tho City of Globe and Prescribing
the Rules and Regulations for the
Be it ordained by the Mayor and
Commoii Council of tho City of Globe:
Tho Supervisor of Streets is hereby
constituted poundmustor for tho City
The pouudmnstcr shall havo tho right
to appoint such deputies of mature age
and discretion ns ho may doom neces
sary for the proper enrryiug on of his
business as poundninstcr, but in no case
shall tho City be liable -frir any charges
or compensation of any nature to be
paid to said deputies except as herein
provided, and any arrangement for sal
ary, fees or compensation made by the
poundnuister except ns herein provided
shall be a pcrsonnlcharge against him
and not against tho City.
It shall be tho duty of tho poundnins
tcr and his deputies to tako up and
iuiKniml all animals found at lnrge,
straying, wnndering or running loose, or
not iu charge of or under tho care or
control of some person or persons in
the streets, alleys, or other public places
or vacant and unincloscd lots in the
City of Globo except dogs upon which
tho City license has been paid and wear
ing a inotal tag as provided in Ordin
ance No. VIII.
- SECTION IV.
If tho owner of any impounded ani
mal except dogs shall bo known to tho
poundmastcr mid shall reside or have
a known place of business in tho City
of Globo, tho poundmaster shall notify
tho owner of such animal personally or
by lettor through tho Npost-oflico within
twenty-four hours aftor such animal
shall have becu taken up and impound
ed. SECTION V.
Tho poundmaster shall within twenty
four hours after tho taking up and im
pounding of any animal oxeoptr.,a dog,
mako a written report to tho City Clerk,
stating tho kind of animal and describ
ing it by color or' otherwise or by any
marks or brands that may bo on it and
when it was takon up and impounded,
and such report shall bo kept open for
public- inspection for thirty days aftor
it is filed.
Tho ponndmnstcr shall keep all nni
mills taken up nnd .impounded by him
or his deputy in it safe, cnnvoliiont and
comfortablo plneo within tho CitvM Jim
its, and shall kcop such animals con
stantly supplied with wntor to drink,
mid shall feed such animals nt least
onco every twenty-four hours and tront

time suclt animals may bo impounded,
which sliall not be less than fivo days
unless sooner claimed by tho owner
thereof, oxcept dogs, which shall bo kept
for thrco days or twenty-four hours ac
cording to the provisions. of Sections IV

All dogs taken up nnd impounded
shall bo covorncd by tho provisions of
Ordinance No. VIII, nnd if such dog
shall bo killed as provided in said or
dinance tho body shall bo romoved at
least ono milo from tho City limits nnd
two hundred yards from any resldorico
or, traveled road, and thero buried, nnd
the Supervisor of Streets shall report
.tho number of dogs so killed and re
moved undor his supervision nt least
onco a month to tho City Clork. The
poundmaster shall bo paid by the City
of Globo tho sum of Fifty cents for
each and pyory dog so killed and ro

to him and shall immediately pay to
the City Clerk nny balance remaining
after deducting such fees and charges,
which said balance sliall bo paid to tho
owner of' said animal or animals if ho
appear and claim tho same within thirty
days after said sale, and if not, then
said balance shall be paid into tho gen
eral fund of the City; tho poundmastor
shall execute a bill of salo over his
official signaturo in favor of tho pur
chaser of such animal or animals, de
scribing the animal, the date .on which
same wns taken up or impounded and
the date and price for which the same
The poundmaster shall be allowed his
fees and shall bo entitled to collect from
the owners of animals taken up and
impounded and claimed by the owner or
owners thereof before delivering such
animal, tho sum of ono dollar for every
animal not a dog so taken up, and in
addition thereto for the taking care of,
watering and feeding nny impounded
animal, fifty cents per day for each dog
and ono dollar por day for each othor
animal; ho shall bo allowed and be en
titled to retain from tho proceeds of
the sale of any impounded animal sold
by him at public auction tho same feo
and chargo as if such animal had been
claimed and tho fees and charges had
been paid by tho ownor thereof, and in
addition thereto ten por cent of the
gross amount of tho proceeds of such
It shall be unlawful for any person
to in any manner interfere with, im
pede, prevent or attempt to interfere
with, impede or obstruct or intimidate
the poundmaster of tho City of Globo
or any of his deputies in tho discbarge
of their duties as hereinbeforo set forth
in taking up or attempting to take up
and inijiound any and all animals which
it shall bo his duty to impound under
tho provisions of this or any other or
dinance or who shall rescue or attmept
to rescue any aninal so taken up by
the poundmaster or his deputies or to
releaso any animal so impounded.
Any person violating any of the pro
visions of this ordinance shall be deem
ed guilty of "a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall bo punished by
a fine not exceeding fifty dollars or be
imprisoned in tho jail or calaboose of
the City not less than five nor moro
thnn thirty days or by both such fiuo

Whereas, It satisfactorily appears to
tho Common Council of tho Town of
Globo that said town has acquired a
population of thrco thousand, and that
thero nro now over three thousnnd in
habitants within the boundaries of tho
said town; and
Whereas, Tho inhabitants thoreof de
sire to assume a city organization and
it is deemed to tho best interests of tho
town that tho inhabitants thereof as
sumo a city organization;
Noy, Therofore, Bo It Resolved, That
we, tho Common Council of tho said
Town of Globo, in consideration of tho
premises and pursuant to tho provisions
of Paragraph 597, Chapter 9 of Title 11
of tho Revised Statutes of tho Territory
of Arizona, do unanimously voto in
