Wear a Kilt and Bo Warm An "enthusiastic Scot has written to the press trying to convert Englishmen to wearing kilts, especially in colli weather. Ho assures them that any body who hasonco worn tlio kilt will never forget the comfort ami warmth it insures. His opinion is indorsed by a West Kiwi physician, who, among other ar guments, claims that petticoats are .much warmer than trousers. Ho ropuill :es tho idea that tho legs of those woaring kilts must bo cold, and says i that tho mero baring of tho knees is .harmless. Ho instances football players leaving tho knees uncovered for tho purpoe of bracing tho sinows. Ho jKiints out that worsted stockings, which are a concomitant of kilts, aro warmer than tho present leg gear. The editor of the Tailor and Cuttor says that the fashionable streets of tho West End would certainly gain in pie turequeness by the adoption of tho kilt. Among other advantages it wourtHnec cosjirily kill the obnoxious high hat and abolish baggy kneed trousers. Ho in forms tho uninitiated that nino yards of cloth aro required for a kilt, owing to the numerous pleat.s. Thus it is more costly than an ordinary suit", but will wear far longer and will never loo its shape. London cable to tho New York Sun.
