YUMA HAS MEANEST THIEF Ho Robbed tho Poor-Box Placed in the Catholic Church At 11 o'clock Sunday night tho Bov, M. Vnndormacson, pastor of tho Cath olic church at Yuma,-was aroused from his ' sloop by tho incessant rining of an electric alarm bell. A burglar was at work in tlio church. At the church door n jioor-bojc is at tached to ono of tho pillars. This box seems to be a special attraction to cer tain undesirable gentlemen. Thrco times already it has been tam pered with of late, whenever an cntor tninmont attracts tho crowds away from homo and street, the Catholic church is suro to attract a nocturnal visit. So it happened last year. This time the back door of tho church was neatly pried open and the poor-box was scientifically smashed. But the burglar reckoned without a certain vig ilant contrivance placed by tho pastor at thp attractive looking box, which set tho silenco of tho night apulsc. Grabbing a little loose change, scat tcring some on the floor and leaving some in the box,-the burglar beat a hasty retreat, leaving no clue whatever and escaping by only tho fraction of a minuto over tho garden fence. Some time or another a night visitor to that tempting box will receive a most unpleasant surprise party. Bead tho Silver Bolt; always up to date and newsy.
