"Tho

(By I. N. Kinsoy)
GLOBE, August 7. Boston: Yestor
day's closo resembled a panic. Stops
and exhausted margins swelled tho
liquidation and at times tho market was
completely demoralized. Tho selling has
been tho extreme, but no ono will tell
whoro tho bottom will be. Thoy will
probably go lower tomorrow unless tho
metal takes a braco. Tho markot after
oponing fairly strong, shortly after
wards began to brdak and thoro wns
continued and persistent liquidation
with few or no rallies until shortly bo
fore tho close. Tho causes for the pres
ent uneasiness havo not been removed
and it is a question when sentiment
will change. Wo would rather sell and
get in tho market higher up on a moro
secure outlook.
Shortly after tho opening yesterday
liquidation started on tho leading rail
road stocks and tho cntiro market was
carried down on an nvorago of four
points. Union Pacific, tho favorite
among tho bull operators, sold off six
points, closing at $132.12. Amalgamat
ed Copepr, the favorito Standard Oil
issue, was carried down to $70.37, tho
lowest it lias been for over a year.
Superior & Pittsburg broko in tho
afternoon nnd closed weak at $15.
Thirty-four dollars was tho low mark
reached by Old Dominion lato in tho
afternoon, but it rallied to $35.25 at tho
close. Arizona Commercial was also
hard hit and closed weak at $15.50.
Globo Consolidated weakened on Duluth
selling and closed at $12.75 bid. Su
perior & Boston was not affected by tho
recent ore striko and was offered freely
at $2.75.
