During tho small twister in tho Highland district re cently tho almost incredible happened. But wo must boliovo tho story, for it was told by truthful men. Between the two cornerstones of a barn (Mr. Itiith ruff's barn, wo boliovo) tho feathers and perhaps tho foot of a chicken pro truded. Tho stones were intact and showed no signs of ever having been disturbed by man or tho power of the elements. But the chicken was blown in botween these largo stones by tho fury of tho storm in some manner. It was a chicken, without a doubt, though pressed as thin as an onion peel. How did it get there! Tho theory shared by nearly all who witnessed tho phenom enon is that during tho storm and a sudden gust of wind, tho barn and tho top stono wero lifted sufficiently high to allow tho chicken to bo blown into the crovico nnd beforo tho fowl could get out settled down.
