Scant Supply Aids in Depres
sion, Although There Is Good
Rally at Close,
NEW YORK, December 17. Scant
ness of money supply kept tho stock
market dull and contracted speculative
activity materially, but tho tono show
ed somo relief. Tho prices showed small
rcsistanco and tho mdvomont was drag
ging and hesitating, assistance toward
resisting tho depression being afforded
by news of tho declaration of extra
dividonds of two per cent for tho Lake
Shore and Michigan Central stocks, two
of tho jnost prominent subsidiaries of
tho New York Contral. Thorp has been
a conspicuous selling of New York Cen
tral for several days on tho assumption
that dividonds would bo reduced or paid
in scrip by decision of tho directors
this week. The action of tho subsidiary
stocks today shook thnt beliof and led
to buying to cover shorts by tho benrs.
Coalers wero conspicuous in tho de
cline, Reading leading, but n subsequent
rally pointed to professional origin for
much selling. Premium persisted on
currency.
METALS WEAK.
NEW YORK, December 17. There
was a further sevoro dOclino in tho tin

support. Spot closcil at 1115, 10s, and

cally the markot was weak and lower.
Connor was lower in London, with
spot closing nt 57, 10s and futures 5S,

to 12.75.
Lead was higher in London nt 13,

Spelter advanced to 20 in London,

ONE OF THE LEADING
MEAT MARKETS-IN THE
GREAT SOUTHWEST
It is hardly necessary to call atten
tion to tho half-pago advertisement of
tho Gatti Mcnt company in this issue.
It speaks for itself and bears a very
pleasant messago to every family in the
city a greeting broad and genoroua.
Tho Gatti Meat company, claiming
tho commendable distinction of being
"tho only real indopondent meat mar
kct in tho city," is ono of Globo 'a lead
ing business concerns, and although
among tho youngest mnrkct places in
tho city has by fair, honorable and lib
eral treatment of its customers cstab
lished a business second to nono, in
eastern Arizona. '
Tho Gatti company rears, feeds and
kills all of its own cattle and rtovcr
allows only tho choicest meats to go
to its cutters for tho customer. This
not only is nn ndvanco guarantee of
good meat, but takes away tho profits
of tho middlo man, making the unusual
ly low prices of tho Gatti company pos,
siblc.
Tho company placed orders for a full
car load of turkeys, ducks, geese and
chickens with a prominent valley farm
er several weeks ago, and this poultry
is being hand'fattcned, especially for
the holiday trade of tho Gatti company.
In this car load turkeys will bo shipped,
weighing as high as forty-two pounds.
Tho Gatti company Has secured a
lease on tho room recently occupied by
tho Barrott drug storo, and in a fow
days will open a swcn up-iown mnrKct.
Watch tho Silver Bolt for tho announce-
mcnt of tho Gatti Meat compnny. Moro
interesting half pago announcements

AMUSEMENTS
Tho Light Houso Robbery.
Jolly Delia Pringlo and her company
havo certainly mado good in Globe. Tho
audienco last night was larger than on
tho opening night, which is a very rare
occurrence and speaks well for the class
of entcrtninment offered tho public by
tho company. It also proves that Globo
appreciates meritorious shows, and to
judge from tho continuous npplauso last
ovoning, everyonq got his money's
worth and then some.
"Tho Light Houso Robbery "is a good
wholcsomo play, with a happy vein of
comedy throughout, and Claude Kelly
as Si Kidder, kept tho largo house in
an uproar all tho time.
The specialties wero great and much
superior to tho usual vaudeville acts
offered by rond companies. Babo
Laird, Jolly Delia Pringlo, Claude Kel
ly, nnd Graco Hamilton all mado hits,
and earned frequent encores. Tho
wooden shoe dancing of Graco Hamilton
wns tho best over seen here, and she
.vas recalled several tinics by tho well
il eased audience.
A pleasant fenture of the evening
.as tho comfortable condition of tho
nouse, which was well hented, ns it will
oo every evening, additional heating fa
ilitics having been added which will
easily heat every part of tho theater.
Tonight tho bill to be presented is
"Tho Chorus Girl" and tho advance
jalo is heavy. This is the feature play
of tho company. Tho specialties for
tonight arc very strong, and alone worth
tho admission price. Notwithstanding
tho merit of tho production, prices will
bo tho same for "Tho Chorus Girl"
25, 35 and 50 cents for tho best re
served scats. No higher.
Tho management's adviqq is that re
serve scats for "Tho Chorus Girl"
ihould bo secured as early as possible,
jwing to the ndvanco demand for good
ieats.
