A Dog; Question.
City Collector Haueisen reports that he has
issued 1157 dog licenses this year, andihese,
at 50 cents each, realized $578 50. This it
not a bad return, but it is supposed that it only
represents a tithe of the dogs actually kept in
the city. j
The County Seolastlc Census Corrected.
It now appears that the County Assessor's
last scholastic report was wrong, and that
officer has filed an addendum, showing 52
white and 40 colored children omitted there
from. This makes an increase instead of a
decrease in the scholastic population. The
addendum has been lorwarded to Austin.
Fort Worth Wonders.
Some of the Fort Worth citizens wonder
why the San Anlonians do not club together
and buy a good site on which the new Sunset
hospital could be built. They think it could
easily be done, and were a good site procured,
the huspital, they say, would undoubtedly be
built here. They themselves raised $4000 in
side of an hour to purchase a site for the Mis
souri Pacific hospital, and if the citizens of this
place had the energy they could do the samr
as regards the new Sunset hospital.
