The Columbia Courier
la entered as second class matter at
the postoffice in
Kennbwick, Wash.
With this issue the Courikr is
one year old and is celebrating its
first birthday by appearing in a
new and enlarged form. The
Courier, while still an infant, is a
husky youngster fairly well equip
ped to fight the battle of existence.
May Kennewick grow and contin
ue its liberal support so that year
by year we can enlarge the paper j
and plant and likewise celebrate;
each and every succeeding birtli- i
day. I
A petition was circulated a
mong the business people and pa
trons of the post office here asking
the post office department to issue
an order for removal of the post
office to its new quarters which
have been completed for some
time. The present quarters are
inadequate to handle the rapidly
increasing business of the office
with dispatch. It is hoped that
the department will act promptly
in the matter and relieve the post
mistress from the annoyances in
that direction which at present she
is obliged to contend with.
The St. Paul & Tacoma Lum
ber Company received 250,000 feet
of lumber this month. There is
also another lumber yard in town
