"Our little daughter had an almost
fatal attack of whooping cough and
bronchitis," writes Mrs. W. K. Havi
land, of Armonk, N. V., '"but when all
other remedies failed, we paved her life
with Dr. King's New Discovery. Our
niece, who had consumption in an ad
vanced stage, also used this wonderful
medicine and to-day she is perfectly
well." Desperate throat and lung dis
eases yield to Dr. King's New Discovery
as to no other medicine on earth. In
fallible for coughs and colds. 60a and
$1.00 bottles guaranteed by City Drug
Store. Trial bottles free.
George Turner's whole campaign is a
bid for republican votes. An acknowl
edged railroad man, supported by Geo.
Stevenson the well known lobbyist,
there is little reason to believe Mr.
Turner sincere when ho says he is a
commission man. His record as a
once ultra-protectionist, later as a radi
cal silver man and his complete rever
sal of these positions do not encourage
the belief that his professed hostility to
railroads is other than a political ex
pedient. His defeat of Senators Toll
man and ITallet shows that be has no
mind to encourage friends of the com
mission if they presume to stand in its
political path. The conference with
George Stevensoi held in Spokane Sat
urday, July 23, at which the editor of
the Spokesman-Review was present,
Stevenson's subsequent action in com
ing out openly for Turner and muzzling
of the Review which up till then had
been bitterly denouncing Stevenson as
a corrupt all prove that Turner
ie in some sort of an Alliance with Lob
byist Stevenson. —Puget Sound Mail.
There never was a lime in the his
tory of the world when agriculture was
as popular as it is now. The possibili
ties of the industries are so many, and
wise men are beginning to see what the
future has in store for the agricultur
ist. If you have a good farm, hang on
to it. If you have not, get one as soon
as you can. No one has solved the pos
sibilities of an an acre of good soil.
Boys, stick to the farm, and when you
are old you will be thankful that you
have done so.
Grover Cleveland originated the
phrase: "It is a condition that con
fronts us, not a theory.'' Applying it
to the present tituation it may be re
marked that the condition is republican
prosperity and the theory consists of
democratic promises).
If there is a citizen of the United
States anywhere who has too much
business and too much employment and
longs for the stagnation that prevailed
from 1893 to 1890, ho can contribute to
that end by voting Ihe democratic tick
et this year.
