BUILD SWrT POTATO 1
IOUSES BY TESTED PLANS
Build your own sweet potato storage
houses, according to tested Government
plans and thus save your money ali,
your potatoes, ib the advice of Horti
cultural Departmen, Extension Di
vision, Louisiana State University it
calling attention to the false claim
made by concerns sellng plans of "pat
ented houses".
Storage houses, of both indgidual
and commercial size, built under plan:
j in every Southern state for several
years and investigations have shown
no case of failure of these houses when
0 properly operated.
U One of the principal arguments used
. by concerns selling "patented" storage
d house plans is that sweet potatoes
I tored in Government designed houses
r. of commercial size, suffe; a loss of
from 20 per cent to 40' per cent or
a more from rot and shrinkage, while
the "patented" houses do not lose
1 over 6 per cent. This is grossly mis
d leading in both instances. The nec
s. essary shrinkage during the curing
,y process is about 10 per cent in weight,
not bulk. This is necessary to keep
e in good condition through the storage
, season. The surplus water must be
i- driven off and the Government-type
o houses are designed to do this by heat
ie ing and ventiation.
There is nothing mysterious or con
a plicated about the curing of sweet
he potatoes. Thorough ventilation im

The Best Way To Find Out
Is To See For Yoursell
We believe in the old saying, "that to make anyone know a thing is
to show him and prove your demonstration by making him understand
everything connected with the matter," and then if he or she is an unbe
•ilever, you are at fault, and your time and energy are wasted. But, if on
the other hand you can convince practically every man or woman to whom
you demonstrate that the things you are showing them has merit and is
exactly as represented, you are doing business. We believe that the aver
age man or woman is as intelligent as we are and that it is a waste of time
to try to "put anything over" anyone, and we do not try this method
to get' customers. We advertise that we have the best merchandise that
'we can buy and sell it as reasonable as possible. If we can't prove this
we are on,the wrong trail. Suppose you try and see. We will be glad
to welcome you in our store and show you everything we have and will
not fall out with you if you odn't buy a cent's worth.
There must be something in,handling this "QUALITY" merchandise
or our sales for November would not have been twice as great as any
month we have had since we have been in business.
