Inquiry having been made ind e
interest manifested in the reor- L
ganization of the State Horticul
tural Society, the undersigned
hahereby, extend the invitation I
an e the call to all persons t
in the State, who are interested
in any phase of Horticultural
work, to meet at the Louisiana
State University and A. & M.
College, Monday, January 13, at
8p. m., during the Farmers'
Short Course (January 6 to 17), b
to consider and determine the a
matter. r
The invitation is to all who are li
engaged, or interested, in any t
phase of Horticultural produc
tion, from the peach and plum I
grower of North Louisiana to the I
orange and fig grower of South
Louisiana; to the truck, the ber
ry, melon, and pecan grower and i
to the florist as well.
The idea is to bring together 1
all persons interested in order
that a full and free discussion of
the whole subject matter may be
had .and definite action taken.
It has been suggested that the
parent society might serve its
best purpose, in separate, but af
filiated organizations like truck,
berry and pecan growers, etc.
That is the idea of the call, to
get together, discuss and deter
mine these matters.
"In a multitude of counselors
there is safety." It is the day
of organized, co-operative effort.
We have a new agricultural soci
ety, Jersey Breeders' Associa
tion, and a call issued for organ
izing the live stock interests of
the State. Let us, the Horticul
tural people of the State, also or
