Verda Alumni Association Meeting. Negrees Fiht-One Deed. Onein JaIL
Verda Alumai Association Meetiag.
The annual meeting of the
Verda High School Alumni As
sociation was held Friday even
ing, May 28th, in the high school
building. A splendid program
was given for the public.
After the close of the public
program, Mr. W. A. Adams, of
Shreveport, president of the V.
H. S. Alumni Association, called
to order a business session. Sev
eral important matters were at
tended too. Then Mr. I. A. Har
gis, of Alexandria, was elected
to be the next president of the
Alumni Association.
After the close of the business I
session came the most enjoyable
part of the program, as it was
nearing midnight and all the I
members were ready for the eats. t
The many good things to eat j
were relished with pleasure. a
Then, too, the many toasts, jokes n
and after-dinner stories made e
the eats more enjoyable. The f
writer refrains, out of pure kind- b
ness, from quoting the menu, to a
save the readers from "that h
hungry feeling."
The attendance was the best
ever at a meeting before. About y
fifty per cent of the graduates fi
were present. Many came for c
miles to renew old acquaintance p(
and make new acquaintance. It C
it is needless to say, it was not vi
only a privilege, but a pleasure P1
to the graduates to be back to to
the scenes of their high school
days. And may every member
be present next year.
