Leverette of Mon roe and children went to Jena Sunday on a visit. Wednesday Clifford, her 11-year-old son, was killed in a railroad wreck, accord -ing to a telegram seht by Mrs. Leverette to her husband, but no particulars were given. Harris of Monroe was in cair town Tuesday. Miss Cleta Slagle returned} home Sunday morning foe her vacation. Miss Gertrude Prince spent several days last week in Stand ard. The summer school is a suc cess. Miss Turnley of Monroe f i the teacher and there are 20 pupils. Dr. and Mrs. E. D. Gardner will leave next Wednesday for the University of Michigan i where Dr. will take a special a course. They will be gone six weeks.
