An Ardinance Orderfhg a special el6ction to be held ii SbciLbo District -No. of the 5th Poliee Jury Ward of the Pariah i St. Landry, for the purpose of submitting to the qualifed electors of the said school district the uestion of the0 levy of an additional special tax of three (3) mills $.003), for the purpose of provid ing additional aid to the public schools of the said school district. Section 1. Be it ordained by the School Board of the Parish of St. Landry, La., That a special election be. and is hereby ordered to be held in School District No. 4 of the 5ta Police Jury Ward of the Parish of St. Landry, La., on the 28th day of November, 1916, for the purpose f submitting to the qualified elec tors of the said school district en titled to vote thereat the question of a levy of a special tax of Three Mills ($.003) on the dollar of all property in the said school dis trict subject to state taxation, for a period of five years, beginning with the year 1917, the proceeds of the said tax to b' used in giving additional aid to the nublic schools of the said schoot district. Section 2. Be it further ordained by the School Boar4 of the Parish of St. Landry, that the polling place or precinct for the said elec tion shall be in the Town Hall in the Town of Washington, St. Lan dry Parish, La., and the following three commissioners and clerk of election are appointed to serve at said election, 0. D. Ortego, Sosth ene Pitre and Arthur Deshotels, commissioners, and Jonas W. Bai ley, Sr., clerk, whose compensa tion for services in holding said election shall be three dollars per day, each commissioner being a qualified elector. Be it further ordained by the School Board of the Parish of St. Landry, That the President of the School Board be, and he is hereby instructed to give the pub lic notice of said election by proc lamation, according to law. Be it further ordained by the School Board of th'e Parish of St. Landry, That the special elec tion herein and hereby provided for shall be held and conducted and the returns thereof shall be made under the provisions of Act. 256 of 1910 and amendments thereof, and such other laws as may be appli cable.
