The death rate from pneumonia in creased from 123.5 per 100,000 in 1919 to 137.3 in 1920. From chronic dis eases of the heart the rate increased from 131.0 to 141.9; from cancer, from 80.5 to 83. Some of the other diseases for which the rate increased are whooping cough, measles, cerdbral hemorrhage, congential delibility and nalformations, pureperal fever, scar let' evear, and ppendicitls. The tftali laties caused by automobile aacidents and injuries show an Increase from 9.4 per 100,000 in 1919 to 10.4 in 1920. A market decrease is shown in the death rate from tuberculosis, which was 114.2 in 1920 as comnpared with 126.6 in 1919; also in the death rate from influenza, 71.0 in 1920.as against i98.9 the year before. The death rate from suicide reclined from 11.4 In 1919 to 16.2 in 1920. There was a decline also in the rate for typhoid Fever and in that for accidental drown ng. S. Douglas, adopted in committee and reported into the House, Wednesday? What everyone wanted to know: "Am I on a route?" There was no extra copies of the bill and Mr. Douglas moved that 1,000 copies be printed at once. .Everybody wants one? The bill tracks the Boykin mea sure and absorbs good features of all the numerous other bills. It pro rides for a connmmission of three, ap pointed by the governor from the state at large, with power to select its highway engineer and other offi clals. Commis ioners are for overlapping terms, two, four, and six years ,and they are to receive $6,000 salary.
