Did you know that now is a splendid time to pay up your - 'subscription? Our books show many delinquent subscribers and - unless our friends come to our r rescue we will b compelled, in order to comply with the law, to n stop sending the paper. This - we do not want to do. We prefer to send the paper knowing that these delinquencies are caused 1 by oversight but the law says not -and we have, to comply with the law or have our paper debarred from the mail. So send us your dollar and relieve us of this painful situation. You need the paper and, especially so now that a political campaign is on, you can't aford to miss it. Work on the school building seems to be dragging. The building was to have been fin ished before school closed but from present indications it will not be ready for the next term. We do not know who is at fault, but this we do know-that the people out of whose pockets the money comes to pay for it, is en titled to have this building fin ished and ready for occupancy before the fall terra of school. A Good Government League meeting was held here Saturday at the Court house. Walter T. Smith, of Mt. Point, presided. Hon. Jack Spears, of New Orleans, addressed the meeting giving the purposes and prin ciples i'f the League after which delegates were appointed to the t Good Government League con- . vention in New Orleans at which I time candidates will be nominated I There were about fifty voters present at the meeting. Hart, husband of our Sister Mrs. Alice Bickhain Hart, leaving her and little son, without the com fort and pro:ection of a husband and father. Therfore be it resolved, that Noble Queen Chapter No. 45 0. E. S. hereby extend to the bereaved widow and orphan, the heartfelt sympathy of its mem bers in this their hour of affliction, and assures them that all that loving friends can do they are willing to do. Bidding = the widow to be not cast down, but to lean on Him who has promised to be a father to the fatherless and a husband to the widow, and who doeth all things well. Be it further resolved,' that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of: the Chapter and a copy be sent to Sister Hart, and that same be published in the Era-Leader.
