den, Mr. James Roth and Edwin

SShipping Potatoes.
The following extracts from a
letter from H. C. Jennings, sec
retary of the Baton Rouge Truck
Growers' Association, to J. R.
Matthews, is given for the in
formation of those of our readers
who may be interested in finding
a market for their surplus Ipo
tatoes:
"If you know of any potato
growers in, or near your city
that are ready to dig, I would
advise that they get together as
mnany as eight acres of potatoes,
and let them all commence to
digging the same day, so they
can make a car load. Let me know
the day before you start to dig
ging, and I will send a man there
to show them how to sack them,
and load them in the cars, and
when this is done, I will be able
to tell you what they are worth.
Understand that I am selling
them for you at the very best
lprice I can get, and I will charge
the growers 10 per cent for sell
ing themn for them.
"If there are some that do not
want to do this way, have them
ship) them to me local, and I will
give them all I can, on receipt of
the potatoes.
